SHANGHAI -- Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Andy Murray were among Friday's quarterfinal winners at the $5.25 million Shanghai Masters tennis event.

The second-seeded U.S. Open runner-up Djokovic drubbed Spaniard Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 6-2, 6-3 on the hardcourts at Qizhong Tennis Center. Garcia-Lopez was a titlist in Bangkok two weeks ago, while Djokovic is fresh off his title in Beijing on Monday.

Djokovic's semifinal opponent on Saturday will be the third-seeded Federer, who dismantled fifth-seeded Swede Robin Soderling 6-1, 6-1 in a mere 53 minutes on Day 6 here.

Federer capped his resounding victory over Soderling with a Pete Sampras-esque jumping smash after the Swede tried to get a lob over him. The Swiss great is now 14-1 lifetime against the two-time French Open runner-up Soderling.

The former world No. 1 Federer is 10-6 lifetime against Djokovic, but the Serb won their last meeting, in dramatic five-set fashion, in the U.S. Open semifinals last month. They've split a pair of meetings this season.

The fourth-seeded Murray mauled 12th-seeded former Australian Open runner-up Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-2, 6-2. Murray was this year's Aussie Open runner-up to the 16-time major champion Federer.

Murray's final-four opponent will be Argentine Juan Monaco, a 6-7 (6-8), 7-5, 6-2 upset winner over 13th-seeded Austrian Jurgen Melzer, who shocked world No. 1 Rafael Nadal here on Thursday.

The Scottish native Murray and Monaco have split two career meetings, both at Masters tournaments last year.

This week's big winner will collect $616,500.
