Soccer fanatics be warned.

York Regional Police announced Thursday they’ll be watching the roads closely during the month-long World Cup.

Operation Red Card will kick off Friday and run until the last match is played July 11, police said.

RIDE spot checks will be roving around York Region before morning games and well into the evening.

There is nothing wrong with celebrating the beautiful game but just be responsible about it, cops said.

Police are encouraging fans “to be on the ball” — their pun not ours — and have a designated driver, use a taxi or climb on public transit.
