Sometimes scoring off a corner kick means putting your body on the line.

Argentina centre back Ezequiel Garay now knows that all too well.

He tried to put his side up 1-0 against the Netherlands in the first half of Wednesday’s World Cup semifinal game. He won a header – that went over the bar – and got a face full of Ron Vlaar’s shin for his troubles.

No foul was called. Garay went down momentarily, but stayed in the game.

Garay, however, was not the only player to took a blow to the head.

Argentine teammate Javier Mascherano had a meeting of the minds with Dutch opponent Georginio Wijnaldum and collapsed to the ground. Mascherano also stayed in the game.
