Toronto FC continues to evaluate Jermain Defoe’s recovery from a lingering groin injury.

Now that the dust Defoe kicked up over has settled — well, kinda settled — following a whirlwind 48 hours, TFC supporters are wondering just where the club’s leading scorer is.

Defoe was in London earlier this week to receive what the club called a secondary opinion on his injury.

“Our team doctor spoke to Jermain yesterday,” TFC general manager Tim Bezbatchenko told the Sun prior to Wednesday night’s game in Philadelphia.

“We are evaluating his rehab over next 7-10 days upon which time we will determine if surgery is required.”

Should the procedure be necessary, Defoe is looking at a post-surgery recovery time of 2-3 weeks.

Bezbatchenko added that Defoe’s “back-to-sport” rehab will take place in Toronto as the Reds look to get their leading scorer back for their final stretch of games.
