At one point in the first half of the Toronto FC-Houston Dynamo game on Saturday night, a TFC supporter tweeted that he was so frustrated, he wanted to stab himself in the eye.

Perhaps a slight overreaction. Sure, the Reds were trailing 2-0 at the time, late in the first half, on some dreadful defending, but all was not lost. Toronto forward Jermain Defoe had yet to make himself heard. But man, did he ever. Defoe was huge on two Toronto goals late in the first half and the former Tottenham Hotspur star then scored two more in spectacular fashion in the second half to win it 4-2 for TFC at BMO Field. The win puts some needed space in the MLS Eastern Conference playoff hunt between Toronto and Houston.
