Tim Leiweke revealed Tuesday that AC Milan and Olympiacos will stage a friendly at BMO Field on July 24, and then provided an update on the renovation of BMO Field.

The AC Milan-Olympiacos contest will be the first match of the 2014 Guinness International Champions Cup and the hope is BMO might host the tournament next year, possibly with a powerhouse such as Manchester United or Manchester City heading to town. This year, eight well-known clubs will be divided into two groups of four and play a total of 12 round-robin games before a final Aug. 2 in Miami.

Leiweke and Relevent Sports CEO Charlie Stillitano assured that the top players -- such as Italian star Mario Balotelli -- would suit up for this year's game.
