Anyone who thought the flashy off-season acquisitions Toronto FC trotted out in the off-season would cure all of its problems only had to look at Saturday’s effort against FC Dallas to know otherwise.

Wave after wave of pressure by the home team at Toyota Stadium in Dallas, eventually cracked the Reds as they lost the final game of their three-game road trip 2-1.

The dagger came in the 88th minute when a Dallas free kick that was headed by a couple of attackers, found the foot of Blas Perez right in front of the TFC net. Perez had an easy finish to reward his team for its dominant performance.

Sure, TFC was again without Jermain Defoe, who is slated to return for the May 3 home game against the New England Revolution. And Michael Bradley was just working his way back into form after missing last weekend’s 1-0 loss at the Colorado Rapids.
