Imaging you didn’t watch Toronto FC get demolished at altitude Saturday night.

You didn’t see Doneil Henry’s atrocious defending. You didn’t see Salt Lake’s Alvaro Saborio put on a finishing clinic.

All you know is that the Reds are currently above the red (playoff) line over at mlssoccer.com.

“Considering the opposition and where we’ve had to go, I would have taken it in a heartbeat,” TFC head coach Ryan Nelsen said following TFC’s 3-0 loss over the weekend.

“We’re still in a really nice position. We know where we are. Whatever people decide to write and talk about us, that’s their prerogative. We knew this was going to happen. It will happen again. We’re going to win games as well. We won’t let outside influences dictate how we talk in (our dressing room).”

Allow me.

The Reds were never as good as their 2-0-0 record, acquired after being thoroughly out-possessed in Seattle two weeks ago and narrowly escaping last year’s worst side, D.C. United.
