The Exhibition Place Board of Governors will hold a special meeting at the Allstream Centre on Friday at 11 a.m., to discuss BMO Field expansion.
But it appears the planning phase is already done and dusted.
After MLSE and city officials met with a small number of community members and Toronto FC fans Wednesday night, early renderings of BMO Field’s proposed redesign began to trickle out.
The nitty-gritty for soccer fans?
Expansion plans call for an adjustable 30,000-seat MLS venue with a full roof and what’s likely to be a hybrid playing surface — natural grass combined with artificial fibres.
According to the latest drawings, retractable stands will be behind both goals and an extra deck will be built above the east stand.
Assuming the Toronto Argonauts move into the expanded venue, the renderings call for a 25,000-seat CFL stadium.
