It was “the worst day of Bright Dike’s life,” according to a tweet from the 27-year-old.

Toronto FC wouldn’t confirm why, but reports indicated the TFC striker tore his Achilles in training on Monday in Orlando — an injury that could see him miss the entire season.

Goal.com reported the injury Monday. The Toronto Sun’s attempts to reach the Reds failed later in the night.

The news couldn’t be worse for Dike, who just recently returned from a torn ACL last season.

He suffered a similar Achilles injury in 2011.

After Jermain Defoe and Gilberto, the Reds were counting on Dike to provide valuable minutes up front heading into the most anticipated season in TFC’s short history.

Dike was also on the short list to be named to Nigeria’s World Cup roster ahead of this summer’s tournament in Brazil.

After joining TFC following a trade with Portland last September, Dike chipped in one goal in five starts during the 2013 season.
