KANSAS CITY - The Reds could be in the market for an old head.

Toronto FC general manager Tim Bezbatchenko told QMI Agency ahead of Saturday’s MLS Cup final that bringing Canadian international Dwayne De Rosario back to BMO Field “could be a possibility.”

Hesitant to disclose exactly how interested the TFC is in the club’s career leading goal-scorer, Bezbatchenko said they’d need to have a discussion with D.C. United ahead of the coming re-entry draft process.

“(De Rosario) would fit the bill in terms of someone we’re looking for,” Bezbatchenko said.

United declined De Rosario’s option at the end of this season, but the 35-year-old midfielder is seeking a move within the league.

In terms of additional marquee names, Toronto FC is hoping to lock up one of two promised Designated Players before the holidays.
