Toronto FC did its biggest rival a lot of damage Saturday night in Chicago.

A 1-0 loss in the Windy City set up a massive end-of-the-season fixture against the Montreal Impact at BMO Field next weekend.

The loss complicated the Impact’s march towards the post-season ahead of next weekend’s anticipated one-off match that could very well decide if the Impact qualifies for the league’s second season.

For the Impact, it’s simple: A win next week at BMO Field will see Montreal into the MLS playoffs.

A loss to TFC next Saturday afternoon and, well, they’ll need a lot of help from the New York Red Bulls.

Toronto has had a number of dubious decisions go against throughout the season — and Saturday was no different after referee Edvin Jurisevic pointed to the spot in the 63rd minute when he judged Jonathan Osorio to have handled the ball inside the area.

Replays, though, showed Osorio’s hands tucked neatly against his chest.
