TORONTO - Re-visit these words in two-year’s time: Toronto FC won — or at least didn’t lose — Monday’s mind-blowing trade with the Portland Timbers.

The Reds confirmed Max Urruti’s one-way ticket to Portland early Monday, later disclosing the 22-year-old Argentine was sent west in exchange for forward Bright Dike, a first-round pick in 2015 and cap relief.

Urruti never left Portland following Saturday’s 4-0 shellacking. He was quietly pulled aside after the match and, to his surprise, told he wouldn’t be returning to the same city he’d just started calling home.

“I didn’t know anything about this (trade),” Urruti told the Oregonian through a translator. “I was on the bench on Saturday and right after the game is when they told me what they were thinking about doing. I guess that’s how things work here.”
