Toronto FC survived an 88-minute onslaught in New England on Sunday night to claim its second road win of the season after Matias Laba slammed home his first career MLS goal two minutes in at Gillette Stadium.

In the second minute Sunday night, Toronto’s 21-year-old Argentine Designated Player picked off a pass at midfield before striding towards New England’s penalty area.

Laba then danced around a Revolution defender before striking his first attempt into an onrushing Bobby Shuttleworth. With the home side’s ’keeper well out of his goal, Laba sent his second-chance effort past a pair of New England defenders and into the open net to issue the Reds a 1-0 win, their fourth of the season.

The win, however, didn’t come without dramatics.
