TORONTO - The Reds must cease all silver-lining lingo or risk dropping into MLS obscurity before the international break.

A day before traveling to Boston for Saturday night’s game against the New England Revolution, TFC bench boss Ryan Nelsen found yet another positive in a season that’s quickly — if it already hasn’t — gone sideways.

“We’re probably the only team in the league that hasn’t been beaten by two or three goals,” Nelsen said.

Unfortunately, though, TFC remains one of just two clubs with a single victory on the season, the other being Eastern Conference foe D.C. United.

“The gap from the playoff spot to where we are right now keeps getting bigger every week,” said Jeremy Hall, when asked by the Toronto Sun if June represents a point of no return for the Reds.

On Thursday, his coach said Toronto must remain within 10 points of the playoff picture come the summer transfer window in order to have a shot at a late-season push.
