Julio Cesar has been everywhere.

No, really, the Brazilian journeyman has traversed the globe multiple times over.

So when Toronto FC offered the 34-year-old midfielder a contract two months after he was released from Sporting Kansas City, it was a chance for the veteran holding midfielder to insert another country into his playing resume, one that now features 12 different nations.

“To be in Toronto is another adventure, another mentality and another country,” he told the Sun following Tuesday’s training session. “For me, it’s very exciting.”

After beginning his 17-year career with Honduran side Marathon, Cesar moved to Europe, where he latched on with Spanish La Liga sides Valladolid and, later, Real Madrid.

Loan spells at AC Milan and Real Sociedad were followed by short stints with club big boys Benfica (Portugal), Tigres (Mexico) and Olympiacos (Greece), with stops in England, Turkey, Romania and Austria in between.
