TORONTO - Appealing but pricey — that's how Toronto FC head coach Paul Mariner described Major League Soccer's re-entry draft.

Friday at 3 p.m. ET, the Reds will have the option of selecting first from a list of MLS players who are either out of contract or whose options were declined following the 2012 season.

Should TFC select a player during the first of two stages — the second stage will be held a week from Friday — it will be required to pick up that player's salary from the previous season.
