CONCACAF announced yesterday TFC will kickoff its 2012 season with a home Champions League quarterfinal date against the star-studded LA Galaxy on March 7.

Advancing from a difficult group stage following an historic 3-0 win over Dallas in October, the return leg will take place a week later in Los Angeles.

While a location for the opening leg has yet to be determined, ownership is debating a plan to move the game away from BMO Field to a much larger Rogers Centre.

The winner of TFC's quarterfinal will face one of Mexican side Santos Laguna or the Seattle Sounders for a place in the Champions League final next April.
