TORONTO - Toronto midfielder Dwayne De Rosario has had an interesting off-season, and things donít seem to be settling down with less than a week left.
Following a team practice at Cherry Beach Monday, De Rosario made it clear that he didnít want to speak with the media.
And while stars have been known to offer up a cold shoulder from time-to-time, De Roís roadblock comes at a time with speculation looming.
After spending a month in Scotland on an unofficial loan with the powerhouse Celtic, the hometown hero and FC captain returned to Toronto threatening to sit out the 2011 MLS season if concessions werenít made to his current contract.
De Rosario has said his worry is heading into a contract year without any guarantees and suffering an injury.
When asked about the status of De Rosario on Tuesday, Reds coach Aron Winter said there is no reason why the midfielder wouldnít play in Vancouver on Saturday and that the face of the franchise is still the captain.
Despite this fact Winter said he couldnít talk about De Rosarioís contract Tuesday.
De Rosario is expected to make public comment Wednesday following FCís practice at BMO Field.
