Grading the Reds

B+, STEFAN FREI - A solid, yet unspectacular rookie campaign as TFC's goalkeeper. His Generation Adidas status makes him an asset.

B, BRIAN EDWARDS - Performed well late in the season and proved he can be a starting MLS goalkeeper. But will it be in Toronto?

C+, JIM BRENNAN - A true competitor but it has to be questioned how much he has left in the tank. Pace of the game has caught up to him.

C, MARVELL WYNNE - Injury and international duty kept him out of the lineup. Athleticism often made up for poor marking.

B+, NANA ATTAKORA - He was widely acknowledged for his hard work. However, his ball distribution still leaves a lot to be desired.

B+, ADRIAN SERIOUX - Played out of position but was a warrior. Injuries mounted, but his effort and commitment was always there.

D, NICK GARCIA - This guy was a bust from the start. Too slow. Poor decision-making. Unfortunately, it was just a sad ending to his career.

B-, EMMANUEL GOMEZ - Young Gambian showed promise, particularly in confidence on the ball. Really needs a veteran presence to help him learn the game.

A, DWAYNE DE ROSARIO - A team leader, both in effort and production. Where would Toronto FC have been without him?

C+, JULIAN DE GUZMAN - Did nothing to inspire in limited action. Played too deep and needs to be more influential to warrant Designated Player allotment.

B, SAM CRONIN - His work ethic never was in question. The only question now is: Where is his best position going forward?

C, CARL ROBINSON - Lack of quality around him makes you believe we never saw the best from the Welshmen. His future with the team is up in the air.

B+, AMADO GUEVARA - Playing for a new contract while injured was detrimental at times. Still, his quality is undeniable.

B-, AMADOU SANYANG - Showed a ton of energy and potential. He does need more discipline but that will come with experience.

D, CHAD BARRETT - Give him credit, he worked hard through his struggles while playing out of position. But the quality isn't there.

C+, O'BRIAN WHITE - Displayed an ability to finish but really needs to work on movement off the ball. Looked overmatched at times.

D, ALI GERBA - Fitness was always a question with him, but he had zero role definition. The team never used him efficiently.

D, PABLO VITTI - Showed glimpes of promise but his play did not justify his contract. With Barry Maclean as his agent, a return to the Reds cannot be ruled out.

C-, CHRIS CUMMINS - Doesn't have the managerial experience to get the most out of his team. In-game management was poor, as was his tactical approach. His fate was sealed months ago - there is no chance he returns.

C, MO JOHNSTON - Did well to bring top Canadian players to the club and has some building blocks going forward. But the team he built is grossly unbalanced. His off-season shopping list includes a head coach, a centre-back, a proven striker and outside midfielders.
