TFC sells out Madrid game
Record BMO crowd expected for Friday's friendly
By LANCE HORNBY, SUN MEDIA

No matter what happens on the pitch Friday night, BMO Field will have a record soccer crowd when Real Madrid takes on Toronto FC.

TFC officials confirmed Thursday morning the friendly against the Spanish side is a sellout, with the stadium's original 20,148 capacity reached and 900 additional bench seats in the north end also spoken for.

Tickets ranged from $140 to $215 at the top end. TFC officials have likened this appearance by FIFA's Team Of The 20th Century at the BMO band box to the Rolling Stones appearing at Toronto's intimate El Mocambo club in 1977.

As well, more than 16,000 seats have been sold for Thursday night's open practice at around $15 each for a glimpse of stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka.
