A full page of Toronto FC's media guide has an end-zone picture of Columbus Crew Stadium completely full of red and white-clad travelling supporters from last March's season opener.

That was John Carver's first game as Toronto coach and it made quite an impression. Reports have as many as 2,000 fan club members making the trip to Ohio for today's game, with Carver citing how much it meant when a couple of hundred fans made it to Kansas City for last week's win.

"Amazing," Carver said. "We'd been talking about the fans, but when you get down there (Columbus) and see the support they give us ... we didn't give a bad performance if you cast your mind back to last year. We had 20 chances and I think the fans played a big part in it.

"We want them to play the same part this weekend. We've upgraded on the field and the fans sense that.

"It's a great feeling to see the support soccer is getting in Toronto," local product Dwayne De Rosario said. "Since the Toronto Lynx, there hasn't been that much soccer in Toronto. Seeing 2,000 people ... hats off to them. It's great to see them travelling with us. Hopefully, we can make their drive back a lot easier with a win."
