NEW YORK - Montreal Impact midfielder Patrice Bernier was suspended one game and fined Friday by the MLS Disciplinary Committee.
Bernier committed a "reckless challenge that endangered the safety of his opponent," Toronto FC forward Ryan Johnson, in the final minutes of 3-0 defeat on Wednesday at Saputo Stadium.
The suspension will be served Saturday, when Montreal visits D.C. United. The amount of the fine was not disclosed.
