Payback for Dane? Not at all
By Mike Zeisberger, QMI Agency

For a good chunk of his career, Danish striker Michael Krohn-Dehli played his club soccer in Holland.

But that doesn't mean he's loyal to that country. Far from it.

In fact, Krohn-Dehli put the boots to the Netherlands on Saturday, scoring the winning goal en route to Denmark’s 1-0 shocker over L’Oranje at Medalist Stadium.

Krohn-Dehli’s marker in the 24th minute stunned the pro-Dutch throng in the stands, leaving Holland with a must-win clash with rival Germany on Wednesday.

“Do I consider it pay back? Not at all,” said Krohn-Dehli, who is now with the Danish club Brondby IF after stints in the Netherlands with Rotterdam and Ajax.

“Was it my best game? I’m not sure of that. It’s one of my best, that’s for sure.”

Much to the chagrin of the Dutch.
