By Sports Network

MANCHESTER, England -- Manchester United and England national team legend Bryan Robson has undergone surgery for throat cancer, the English Premier League club announced in a statement on Wednesday. "Bryan Robson underwent an operation to remove a tumor from his throat on March 3, 2011 in a hospital in Bangkok," the statement read. "The laboratory report revealed a cancerous tumor, which will need further treatment. The oncologist is confident that the condition is treatable." Robson earned 90 caps with England, including 65 as captain. At United he helped lead the club to three FA Cups, the European Cup Winners' Cup and two Premier League titles.
