Canada U20s seeking first World Cup berth since 2007

Canada’s under-20 men’s national team is a win away from booking its place in this summer’s FIFA under-20 World Cup in Turkey.

After easily dispatching Nicaragua on Friday, the Canadians advanced to Tuesday night’s quarterfinal showdown against the U.S in Puebla, Mexico.

As the top four finishers from CONCACAF’s under-20 championship secure spots in this summer’s World Cup, it’s do-or-die for the Canadians, who haven’t competed at an under-20 World Cup since hosting the event in 2007.

"It will be a special match as part of the Canada-USA rivalry," head coach Nick Dasovic said.

"I'm sure they will be up for it just as much as we are."
