CALGARY - Owen Hargreaves is going high-tech with his job search.
And we're not talking about scouring the online classified sites for openings or want ads.
After knee injuries ended Hargreavesí four-year stint with soccer superpower Manchester United, the Calgary-born midfielder has posted a series of video shorts on YouTube in an attempt to salvage his career.
The video clips show the 30-year-old sweating it out in the gym and on the field, specifically in drills that prove Hargreaves has full balance, motion and strength in his legs.
Hargreaves has been job-hunting since being released by Manchester United in May.
In 39 career outings for the English Premier League squad, he had two goals. The dual citizen also suited up for Englandís national side at two World Cup competitions and several other international events.
According to the Daily Mail newspaper, only the two Canadian-based Major League Soccer squads ó Toronto FC and the Vancouver Whitecaps ó have shown any interest.
Perhaps his video clips will result in a job offer, although Hargreaves has been criticized for only posting one clip that shows the injury-plagued midfielder handling the ball.
ďAny club making that investment in a player needs to know he can play on a regular basis,Ē Toronto FCís Paul Mariner told the Daily Mail.
