Soccer superstar David Beckham is coming to Hollywood North Oct. 3.

He'll lead Major League Soccer's Los Angeles Galaxy in a friendly against the Vancouver Whitecaps at B.C. Place Stadium.

Tickets go on sale June 9 starting at $35.

There is no doubt he's the star attraction. If he's injured, the game will be rescheduled, according to both Whitecaps' director of soccer operations Bob Lenarduzzi and Galaxy head coach Frank Yallop.

"Beckham does transcend the sport of soccer," Lenarduzzi said. "He's a worldwide-known figure and obviously he's a good player."

It'll be the last Whitecaps' game of 2007 after USL First Division playoffs. For L.A, it's sandwiched between weekend matches at Columbus Crew and Houston Dynamo.

Beckham, who is nursing a knee injury, turns 32 on May 2 and leaves Real Madrid June 30. His L.A. debut is Aug. 5 in Toronto.

Yallop, Canada's ex-senior men's national coach, called Beckham "hungry and willing to do the work and play like he can play to make us better."
