Rogers Sportsnet snowed out B.C. soccer fans Sunday night when it aired Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns instead of the Women's Gold Cup final.

Ontario viewers watched United States beat Canada 2-1 live on a heartbreaking penalty kick in the final moments of extra time. It aired here at 11 p.m. on tape-delay.

Canadian Soccer Association vice-president Vic Montagliani was at the Carson, Calif. final and learned about the scheduling mishap from 24 hours.

"Sportsnet has done a good job for us overall," Montagliani said, "but there have been frustrating moments like that."

CBC becomes Canada's international soccer broadcaster in 2007.
