A dozen members of the W-League champion Vancouver Whitecaps are in Russia representing Canada in the FIFA Under-20 Women's World Championship.

Canada, with Whitecaps' skipper Bob Birarda as assistant coach, kicked off this morning against Nigeria in Moscow. Sportsnet Pacific airs the match at noon on tape delay.

Opening round matches continue Sunday against Finland and Wednesday against China. The 16-team tournament's final is Sept. 3.

Richmond's Jodi Ann-Robinson scored twice in last Saturday's 3-0 win over Australia in Canada's last tune-up.
