Believe it or not, a middle-aged man from Bulgaria has legally changed his name to Mr. Manchester United.

Zdravkov Levidzhov, a Manchester United fan since the 1970s, endured a 15-year copyright struggle to switch his name to Manchester Zdravkov Levidzhov-United, the Sun (UK) reported. After years of resistance, the team finally agreed to meet Levidzhov-United in the middle -- a blend of both his original name and the club's name.

The die-hard Red Devils supporter, who had already pledged his allegiance to the iconic soccer club by naming his cat "David Beckham", according to the Manchester Evening News, celebrated the name change with some ink.

He had the Manchester United team crest tattooed on his forehead.

"The tattoo's my ID card," Levidzhov-United told the Sun (UK). "People don't look at me in a funny way, they look in admiration."

If nothing else, the tattoo is a convenient identifier.

"Now, whenever someone asks my name, I point to my forehead and smile. It makes me stand out and proves my loyalty to United," he said.
