Three male high school soccer players were arrested Friday for allegedly raping three younger student-athletes at a sports camp in Massachusetts, according to the Boston Globe.

Approximately 165 Somerville High School student-athletes were attending a team-building excursion earlier this week when the accused entered a cabin and assaulted younger teens, the district attorney said.

"The incident goes far beyond hazing," Somerville mayor Joseph A. Curtatone said.

"This is rape."

Somerville's two soccer teams -- boys and girls -- as well as its football team were at the camp.

Galileo Mondol, 17, has been charged with one count of aggravated rape of a child under the age of 16, two counts of assault with intent to rape a child under 16, one count of indecent assault and battery, three counts of assault and battery and three counts of witness intimidation.

"My client emphatically maintains his innocence," William Korman, Mondol's attorney, said. Korman added his client will plead not guilty to the charges.

Two 16-year-olds, whose names were not released by police, face similar charges.
