OTTAWA - Ottawa may not get a first-hand look at Team Canada at the 2015 Women's World Cup, but our national soccer side could play in these parts beforehand.

Peter Montopoli, general secretary of the Canadian Soccer Association, said Tuesday he'd like the 2012 Olympic bronze medallists to play a friendly at the new stadium at Lansdowne Park after it is finished next year.

"Hopefully we get to a point next year where we'll announce a match for the city of Ottawa once we know the stadium is complete and we have schedules in place," Montopoli said as he took a break from a FIFA (soccer's governing body) site visit to Ottawa, one of six cities hosting the Women's World Cup in 2015.
