A day after naming Colin Miller as Canadian men’s national team interim head coach, the Canadian Soccer Association presented the former Canadian international to media ahead of scheduled friendlies against Denmark and the U.S. at the end of this month.

“I can’t go into the specifics of who will be available,” Miller said of the team he plans to name. “We’ll make that announcement I believe sometime next week. It will be an entirely different group than we saw in Honduras.”

Canada hasn’t competed since an embarrassing World Cup qualifying exit in October when it went out to Honduras 8-1 in San Pedro Sula.

“We must try to take steps forward from our last game, which we know wasn’t a good performance or a good result. One of those freak results in my opinion.”

Miller, who’s currently the head coach at FC Edmonton of the NASL, said he plans to return to his second division side when Canada’s camp concludes at the end of January.
