Chelsea defender Ashley Cole was charged with misconduct on Monday by The Football Association after he sent a tweet criticizing the FA's ruling on John Terry's racial abuse case.

A statement from the FA released Monday read: "Chelsea FC's Ashley Cole has been charged by the FA in relation to a Twitter comment which was improper and/or brought the game into disrepute."

Cole gave testimony in support of Terry in the case, but was angered by the fact that the commission questioned the credibility of Cole's evidence.

Capped 98 times by England, Cole was included in the team to face San Marino and Poland in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers this week.

Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo has already said that Cole will face disciplinary action from the club for violating Chelsea's social media policy.

Cole has until Thursday, Oct. 11 to respond to the charge from the FA.

Is the season lost for the Toronto Blue Jays or is there still time to turn things around?
Plenty of time to get it turned around
They're quickly running out of time
It's lost. When do the Argos start?
It was over before it began
