Zidane's headbutt bronzed
By QMI Agency

Zinedine Zidane has been bronzed for posterity.

Just not in the way most French soccer fans would want.

Much to their chagrin, artist Adel Abdessemed picked Zidane’s infamous 2006 World Cup headbutt on Italian centre back Marco Materazzi as the inspiration for his statue.

The five-metre tall installation was unveiled today in the forecourt of Paris’ Centre Pompidou, which houses France’s National Museum of Modern Art.
