LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND - Liverpool will not appeal Luis Suarez's eight-game suspension, the English Football Association announced Tuesday.

Suarez, a Uruguay international, was given the suspension for racially abusing Manchester United's Patrice Evra during a recent English Premier League match. He was also fined approximately $62,000.

"Liverpool FC have this afternoon informed The FA that they will not be appealing the decision of an Independent Regulatory Commission in relation to the recently proven misconduct charge against Luis Suarez," the FA said.

Suarez started serving his suspension against Manchester City on Tuesday.
