Christine Sinclair of Burnaby, B.C., was announced Thursday as the Canadian female soccer player of the year -- the seventh consecutive time she has won the award.

A highlight this year for Sinclair, 28, was scoring the tying goal in the gold-medal match at the Pan Am Games. Canada went on to defeat Brazil on penalty kicks.

The 2011 men's winner, Dwayne De Rosario, was announced on Wednesday.
