Quebecor Media and the Montreal Impact announced a five-year partnership Thursday that will put the soccer team on high-definition TV when it joins MLS in 2012.

"Quebecor Media is extremely pleased to announce one of its most important sports partnerships to date," said Pierre Karl Peladeau, president and CEO of Quebecor Media and Quebecor.

The wide-ranging partnership will include sponsorship, media and technology. A total of 24 Impact games will be shown on Quebecor's TVA Sports network as of 2012.

"We want to offer rich, varied coverage that gives viewers full information about the Impact and the game of soccer through interviews with the players, behind the scenes reports and interviews with the team's owners and experts," network president and CEO Pierre Dion said.
