Celtic downs Dundee for 5th straight win
By SPORTS NETWORK
Dundee, Scotland - Celtic claimed its fifth successive win on Sunday at Tannadice Park as the Hoops downed Dundee United, 3-1.
The victory allows Celtic to restore its five-point lead over Rangers at the top of the table, although Neil Lennon's men have played two more games.
First-half goals from Anthony Stokes and Mark Wilson handed the visitors a two-goal lead at halftime before David Goodwillie pulled a goal back for United in the 64th minute.
However, Majstorovic secured the win with his first goal of the season 12 minutes from time.
The home side entered the match having gone unbeaten in its last eight games, but they were a bit unlucky to go behind in the 16th minute when a shot from Stokes deflected off of United's Garry Kenneth and found its way into the net.
Wilson's goal also took a deflection off of a United player on its way past goalkeeper Dusan Pernis, but Goodwillie gave the hosts some hope in the second half when he fired home a rebound to make it 2-1.
But Celtic would not be denied three points as Majstorovic got on the other end of a Charlie Mulgrew free kick to send a diving header past Pernis.
