Sao Paulo acquires Brazilian great Rivaldo
By Sports Network

Sao Paulo has acquired former Brazilian international Rivaldo, the 1999 FIFA World Player of the Year, on a one-year loan deal from Mogi Mirim.

Rivaldo, 38, helped Brazil win the 2002 FIFA World Cup and played at Barcelona from 1997-2002 in his club career. He also played at AC Milan from 2002-04.

He joined Mogi Mirim, a small Brazilian club that Rivaldo is the president of, in 2011 and made five match appearances. His loan runs until the end of 2011, and Sao Paulo has an option to extend the deal for another season.

After benching Brad Richards should the New York Rangers eventually just buy him out?
  Yes.
  Might be a good idea.
  No.
  Not sure.
