Neuville announces retirement
By Sports Network

BIELEFELD, Germany -- Former Germany international Oliver Neuville announced his retirement from the game on Wednesday.

The 37-year-old made 69 appearances for the national team, scoring 10 goals, and had been playing this season for Arminia Bielefeld in Bundesliga 2.

Neuville played for Germany in the 2002 and 2006 World Cups while also taking part in Euro 2008. He made over 300 appearances in his club career while playing for both Bayer Leverkusen and Monchengladbach.

"It's definitively over. I've been thinking about it for a while already but that isn't how I hoped it would happen. I hoped to play for longer," Neuville told German newspaper Bild.

After benching Brad Richards should the New York Rangers eventually just buy him out?
  Yes.
  Might be a good idea.
  No.
  Not sure.
