Klose to miss three weeks
By Sports Network

MUNICH -- Bayern Munich forward Miroslav Klose will be sidelined three weeks with a muscle tear.

Klose suffered a similar injury in Germany's 3-0 win over Kazakhstan in Euro 2012 qualifying earlier this month, and was forced to leave training early on Wednesday due to a new muscle tear.

The 32-year-old injured the same muscle, but in a different area. He sat out a Pokal Cup match against Werder Bremen on Tuesday, a 2-1 Bayern win, due to the flu. Klose was just nominated as for the FIFA Ballon d'Or on Tuesday.

Klose joins Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben, Mark van Bommel, Diego Contento, David Alaba and Breno on the sidelines for injury-plagued Bayern. Bayern hosts Freiburg on Friday in the Bundesliga.

Ribery, who has been out with a ankle injury, is two weeks from returning from his injury, but fellow winger Robben remains out until after the winter break.
