By Sports Network

NAPLES, Italy -- Violence marred Liverpool's 0-0 draw against Napoli in the Europa League on Thursday, as numerous fans and police officers were injured in clashes outside and inside Stadio San Paolo in Naples.

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson addressed the violence after the fixture, saying "these are things we don't want to see in football.

"I hope they are not seriously injured and able to go back home without having too many bad memories. All I can say is how grateful we are for their support and we are sad and sympathetic to hear several of them got attacked."

Details about the amount of injuries was unknown late Thursday. Fans were also arrested during the violence.
