NEW YORK -- Red Bull New York forward Thierry Henry was fined $2,000 by the Major League Soccer Disciplinary Committee on Monday night for unsporting behavior last week against FC Dallas.

Following New York's first goal of the 2-2 draw, Henry kicked the ball after the play ended. Dallas goalie Kevin Hartman stepped into the path of the ball and suffered a knee injury. MLS determined Henry's action to be unsporting and issued a fine.

Dallas midfielder Brek Shea was also fined and suspended by MLS for a red card he received in the match against New York for a dangerous foul.

After reviewing the incident, MLS determined the reckless nature of the action and Shea's unsportsmanlike behavior while exiting the field warranted an extra fine and suspension.

In addition to the one-game suspension and $250 fine automatically issued for the red card, Shea will pay an additional $750 and serve an additional one- game suspension.

Shea will serve his suspension during the next two FC Dallas matches on Sept. 22 against New England and Sept. 25 against Kansas City.
