Whitecaps to name coach
By BOB MACKIN, QMI Agency

The Vancouver Whitecaps will announce Thursday who will coach the team for their inaugural Major League Soccer season.

The 10 a.m. news conference comes exactly a month before the end of the Caps' United States Soccer Federation Division 2 regular season. The club is not scheduled to train Thursday.

It has been speculated current coach Teitur Thordarson will remain at the club's helm. Under the Iceland native's command, the Caps were 2008 United Soccer Leagues' First Division champions and 2009 runners-up. This year's squad, which has undergone major roster changes throughout the season, has a six point lead in the NASL conference with a 9-3-13 record.

Do you think Chad Johnson can still play at a high level in the NFL?
Yes, he is a talented receiver
No, he is too old to play
CFL might be a better option
