Cech sidelined for month
By Sports Network

LONDON -- Chelsea confirmed on Wednesday that goalkeeper Petr Cech will miss the next month because of a calf injury that he sustained in training on Tuesday.

"Scans have shown Petr Cech has torn a calf muscle in his right leg and the goalkeeper is expected to be out for a month," a club statement read.

The injury will likely prevent Cech from starting the Premiership season against West Bromwich on August 14 as Chelsea begins the defense of its title.

Cech suffered a similar injury last season in a Champions League match against Inter Milan, which forced him to miss exactly one month of action.

Do you think the officiating has been fair in the Kings-Sharks series?
  Yes
  No
No ... but the refs seem to be evening it out themselves
