After a shutout loss to Chicago, FC London spent all week working on re-discovering its offensive touch.

Now, they have the Indiana Invaders wondering where their defensive game went.

FC scored a half-dozen times in a 6-1 rout of visiting Indiana in USL Premier Development League action Saturday night at Cove Road Field. The Invaders had previously only surrendered seven goals in their first seven matches.

Luke Holmes and Scott Bibby each scored a pair for London, which improved to 5-1-2, good for fourth spot in the Great Lakes Division with games in hand on the top three. The forwards’ homeland of England could’ve used that kind of marksmanship Sunday against Germany at the World Cup.

Alan McGreal also found the back of the net twice for London. Patrick Eavenson had his clean sheet spoiled in second-half injury time.

FC London remains at home to face the Michigan Bucks at TD Waterhouse Stadium on July 1. Kickoff is 7 p.m.

London City, meanwhile, will return to the Cove on Friday to face the North York Astros. Game time is 8:38 p.m.

The Canadian Soccer League entry tied Milltown FC 2-2 on June 18 and lost 4-0 to the Serbian White Eagles this past Friday. City is currently 1-2-2 on the season despite surrendering the first goal in every game they’ve played this year.

Against Milltown, City fought back twice to earn the away point. Down a goal in the first half, Tom Beattie drove the ball from 20 yards out on a free kick into the top corner of the net at 36 minutes.

Milltown’s Tristan Scott put the home side back ahead in the second half, but was ejected after a second yellow card for a tackle on London’s Genti Dervishi.

Anasse Brouk tied it on a penalty shot awarded for a hand ball in the box at 81 minutes.
