Juventus and Fiorentina won't be the only major soccer draws at the Rogers Centre this summer.

After weeks of speculation, Manchester United announced Thursday that it will face Scottish giants Celtic July 16 in Toronto.

United's summer tour will also see it travel through North America to face the Philadelphia Union and Kansas City Wizards, then to Houston where it will face the MLS' top players in the All-Star Game.

The trip also includes a stop in Guadalajara, Mexico, where the Red Devils will face Chivas.

Chivas recently agreed to sell Mexican starlet Javier Hernandez to United. Hernandez would be an

attraction to United fans, but he will only be just returning after representing Mexico in the World Cup.

United will also be without some of the other stars expected to make long World Cup runs, including Wayne Rooney.

Still the club is promising some star power.

The squad, headed by Ryan Giggs and including stars such as Paul Scholes, Edwin van der Sar, Darren Fletcher, Antonio Valencia, John OShea, Michael Owen and Dimitar Berbatov, will be bolstered by a number of the promising young players, such as Federico Macheda and the da Silva twins, read a release from Manchester United.

Its great to be going back to North America, manager Alex Ferguson was quoted in the release. I enjoyed the last two tours there in 2003 and 2004 immensely. The quality of the facilities is outstanding and there is a real enthusiasm in the crowds. Its especially pleasing to be going in a World Cup year, when the interest in football will be at its height.
