Moguls gold for Marquis
By QMI Agency

Canadian Philippe Marquis won the gold medal in the World Cup moguls event Friday in Are, Sweden.

Marquis, from Quebec City, posted a score of 24.79 in the super final to edge Mikael Kingsbury of Deux-Montagnes, Que., who finished with 24.48 points for his first World Cup victory. Sho Endo of Japan was third with 24.23 points.

"No celebrating for me, " Marquis said. "It's going to be hot tub, massage, physio, a big big meal and back to bed. Actually today was a lot of runs and my body is dead, but when you win, everything is fresh and good."

In the women's moguls event, Chloe Dufour-Lapointe of Montreal picked up her second career silver medal, finishing just behind American Hannah Kearney. Arisa Murata of Japan was third.
